The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs
This day trip to the Roses Valley and the Dades Gorges from Ouarzazate follows the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through some of the most beautiful scenery in the south of Morocco. You drive through the Skoura palm grove, where a thousand kasbahs still stand although only one is still in use, and visit it, before continuing through the Roses Valley.
You then leave the main road for an off-road track to visit the nomads of Boutaghrar and reach the Dades Gorges, where you have lunch and, if you wish, walk around the canyon. On the way back you drive through the Dades Valley to see the strange rock formations known locally as the Monkey Toes, and you return to Ouarzazate in the late afternoon.
