A Week of Family Adventure
This Morocco family tour is a seven-day adventure that starts and ends in Ouarzazate. Children and adults enjoy the same highlights: the palm groves of the Draa Valley, a crossing of the desert in 4×4 vehicles, tea with nomadic families, a camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes and a night under the stars.
The way back leads through the Rissani market, the Todra Gorges, the Thousand Kasbahs route and the Roses Valley. Like all our tours, this itinerary is private and can be adapted to the ages and interests of your family.

Day 1
Arrival in Ouarzazate
We meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. If your flight arrives early enough, you can visit the Taourirt Kasbah.
Day 2
Ouarzazate, Agdz, Draa Valley and Zagora
After breakfast you drive across the Anti-Atlas Mountains to the huge Draa Valley, which has more than ten million palm trees, on the way to Zagora, the door of the desert. Near Zagora you can visit the Koranic library, the artisans’ workshops and an underground kasbah.

Day 3
Zagora, Tafraout, Ramlia, Erg Chebbi and Merzouga
After breakfast you drive about 280 kilometres in 4×4 vehicles along part of the former Paris-Dakar Rally route, crossing the desert with its “sand rivers”, dry lagoons and endless plains where nomadic people live. Running parallel to the Algerian border, you begin to know what the desert really is. You reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi and Merzouga.

Day 4
Merzouga and Erg Chebbi
After breakfast, again on the Paris-Dakar Rally route, you have tea with nomadic people and visit an association of local people originally from Mali to enjoy their special music. In the afternoon you ride camels into the dunes to the camp, watch the sunset surrounded by the dunes and sleep under the stars.
Day 5
Merzouga, Rissani, Erfoud and Todra
At dawn you return by camel to the hotel. After a shower and breakfast you drive to Rissani to see the market where the nomadic people do their shopping, and continue through Erfoud to the Todra Gorges.

Day 6
Todra, Dades, Boutghrar and Ouarzazate
You follow the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs towards the Dades Valley and cross the High Atlas, where different Berber cultures live and some nomadic families still live in caves. You pass through the Roses Valley, where rose products such as creams, soaps and perfumes are made, and reach Ouarzazate.
