A Refreshing Escape to Morocco’s Most Famous Falls
This day trip from Marrakech to the Ouzoud Waterfalls is an excellent choice for nature lovers and for anyone who wants a refreshing break from the city. The falls cascade down more than 100 metres in three tiers, and you can hike down to the base through olive groves, admire them from several viewpoints and, if the weather permits, take a dip in the natural pools.
You have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the falls, spend time by the water and may see the Barbary macaques that live in the area. In the late afternoon you drive back to Marrakech, arriving in the evening.

Early departure from Marrakech
The drive takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, through beautiful countryside and small towns.
Arrival at the falls
You are greeted by the spectacular sight of the Ouzoud Waterfalls, which cascade down over 100 metres in three tiers.
Hike to the base
Walk down to the bottom of the falls through olive groves and along the trails, with viewpoints along the way. Prepare for a bit of a hike.
Optional boat ride
At the base of the falls you can often take a boat ride to get closer to the cascades. It is optional, and it offers a unique view of the waterfalls.
Lunch with a view
Sample traditional Moroccan dishes at one of the restaurants overlooking the falls.
Free time by the water
Explore the area, relax by the water or look out for the Barbary macaques that live nearby.
Return to Marrakech
