ITINERARY
This tour is a like a combination between Historical Human Heritage sites, A local Moroccan Culture discoveries and Fossils Hunting in Morocco
1 Day : Marrakech arrival
You will be picked up from the airport and shuttled to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time with
the possibility of the first contact with Moroccan culture in the famous square Jamaa lafna.
2 day : Marrakech – Ait ben haddou – Ouarzazate
In the first hours of the day, we start our journey by heading to the Atlas Mountains. Our first visit
for today will be in an agate mine in Triassic Lava near the village of Sidi Rahhal. Later we cross the
High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass (Alt 2260 m. high) We will see some of Morocco’s
most picturesque sceneries, such as the different folded or files created by in different ages while the
mountains were created; Cambrian , Ordovician, Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous ages. Near the
Kasbah of Telouet we will have another stop in a Salt Mine Caves before we continue our way
through the Beautiful Ounilla Valley with its fascinating Berber villages and panoramic views to reach
the Human heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou. Visiting the Ait Ben Haddou village which is recognized
by UNESCO as a world human heritage site since 1987. Afterward, we continue our adventure to
reach the Holly-wood of Morocco, Ouarzazate afternoon.
3 Day :Ouarzazate – Anti Atlas Mountains – Draa Valley – Alnif
After the breakfast, we start our journey heading to the southeast. Our first stop will be a nearby the
village of Ait Saouen, a part of the Anti-Atlas Mountains. We stop for Stromatolites hunting. Crossing
the Saghrou Mountains to reach the beginning of the amazing Draa valley with its palm trees grove.
Another stop in Jbel Kissani for Trilobites and Azatos. Through the Draa valley and a Berber villages
we reach Alnif for our next night
4 day : Alnif – Messisi – Fzou – Maider Bassin – Tafraouet
In our way to the Maider Bassin we will have our first visit to the Tiskaouine Quarry, Cambrian site
For yellowish trilobite and Calymine. We continue the way to another site called Atchana/Jbel
Isoummir to look for a Devonian trilobites and rolled phacops. By afternoon we arrive to Tafraouet
To spend over night
5 Day : Tafraouet – Ramlia – Ouzina/Jdaid
After the breakfast in Tafraouet , we pass through the Zerge Quarry for Phacops then to Jbel Mrakib
for Phacops and Goniatites. Later we by off-road we continue more deeper to Sahara desert to reach
the Area of Ouzina village, here in Tifrda hells we search for another kind of Trilobites named Asaphus
(Asaphellus)
Overnight either in Ouzina or Jdaid village
6 Day : Ouzina – Taouz – Merzouga
After the Breakfast in the middle of the desert, we start our journey by passing through the Jdaid
Rock Carving. In our way we stop too in Oued Ziz site near the village of Taouz for the rocks carvings
and some several dozen tumuli that are thought to be burial mounds with complex stone bases.
Another break time will be by the Filoun 12 Mineral mine then later in Kem Kem Dinosour beds for
Fishes, Crocodiles, Spinosaurus bones and tooth
Overnight in hotel in the area of Merzouga desert
7 Day : Merzouga – Mefis Mine – Tissardmine Fossils Quarry – Merzouga
In the morning, we start our new day, discovering the area with its sand dunes, some nomads that
are still living in the tents, visiting an association of sub-saharien people ( Originally from Sudan and
Mali) to listen and see their music show and traditions. Later we enter deeper to desert to see the
nomadic lifestyle in their tents. We discover the Tisardmine Quarry for orthoceras and Ammonites.
In the afternoon we go back to the hotel to be prepared for a camel riding. Around One hour a camel
riding to reach the starry camp where to spend the overnight
8 Day : Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Arfoud – Toudra gorges – Dades Gorges
Always after the breakfast, we departure to Errisani to visit this old city with its typical
market, continuing the trip via Erfoud where we will stop for a fossil museum visit
.Afterward we continue to Tenjdad then later to the Toudra gorges. One of the best canyons
in Morocco. Onwards we drive through the Boumalne city centre, and we go a deep of its
gorgeous panoramic views and contrast landscape of the Atlas mountains. We end our day
by the Dades gorges.
9 Day : Dades Gorges – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate
After breakfast in your Accommodation, the Local guide will join you and start your journey for 4 to 5
hours trekking on the area. Begins from a small a Berber village called AIT OUGLIFF with its very old
ruins Kasbahs (castles), Kasbah ruins, olive, figs, almonds, walnuts and olive trees. A form rocks looks
like monkeys toes, Big Canyon and so on. Pic Nic on the valley then back to the car and you meet
again with your driver to drive you to your next destination.
Driving through the rose`s valley and Skoura palm trees to get to Ouarzazate afternoon. Overnight in Riad
10 Day Ouarzazate – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
After breakfast,we visit the kasbah of taourirt, its very known castle in the area, before we continue
Our way back to Marrakech. Overnight in Riad
11 Day : Marrakech – Marrakech
After your breakfast at the hotel, we hang out to visit the more important attractions of the Red city
Marrakech. Including the most important historical monuments; like Jemaa El Fna Square, the Old
Medina, the Koutoubia Minaret, the Bahia Palace, the historical Saadian Tombs and the famous
Koranic Ben Youssef School. Overnight in Riad
12 Day : Marrakech Airport
Transfer to airport and the end of our services.
